About GlobalCCU
Chapters
What is it?
A GlobalCCU Chapter is a local group of corporate university executives and senior learning professionals who get together on a regular basis to benchmark, exchange ideas and learn from each other, in face-to-face meetings, speaking their mother tongue. GlobalCCU Chapters are an extension of the Global Council of Corporate Universities, coordinated and synchronised by the GlobalCCU Head Office in Paris, France.
What are the benefits of the Chapters for Members?
A Chapter Member will be afforded many opportunities he/she just cannot get anywhere else.
- learn from the best in the Corporate University and Learning industry
- have small group access to learning experts
- showcase his/her facilities and project successes
- collaborate in real-time and virtually with other members across the room and around the globe
- have access to the GlobalCCU "members-only" services area of our website, Chapter Members Directory, a discounted attendance at GlobalCCU Conferences
How does membership work?
Membership provides:
- Quarterly meetings (one day)
The topic and content of these meetings are designed and developmed by a "members only" working group in conjunction with the chapter leader.
- Annual seminar (one and a half days)
This annual event affords members the opportunity to present their best practices on an exhibit booth per company, share knowledge and network with fellow members.
- Members file
This approximately 50 page comprehensive file is specifically prepared for each meeting. It contains the following: the topic of the meeting; a transcript of the presentation of the host corporate university; benchmark case studies; strategic and operational tools, including –self diagnosis tools, action plans, etc.
- Chapter Members Directory
The contact information of Chapter Members is made available exclusively to Members of the Chapter and the GlobalCCU head office. This data will never be sold or used by a third party. The Members Directory is accessible on the GlobalCCU website with a secure login and password.
- GlobalCCU Chapter email express service
Each Member may use a special Chapter Member's email addresses to request information, advice, and professional contacts from their peers.
- Membership card with a personalised login and password to the GlobalCCU Chapter website on the GlobalCCU website.
Each Member has access to the GlobalCCU Chapter website containing valuable information, the latest Chapter news and other relevant content. A personalised login and password is issued on a Membership card which is delivered after registration has been completed.
Members commit to honour the GlobalCCU guiding principles:
- Co-researching, co-creating and sharing knowledge.
- Commitment to contribute, to exchange experiences and actively help one another.
- Respect cultural diversity, uniqueness, and differences.
- Business ethics (mutual respect, confidentiality, loyalty and generosity).
Members must respect a club mindset
- Principle of a community of practice. This means that Members attend the GlobalCCU Chapter meetings both to provide and receive feedback, support, advice and to challenge one another.
- Principle of rotating invitation to the various Members' corporate facilities. Each host is responsible for logistics and amenities. This permits Members to discover first-hand the organisation and the culture of other corporate university structures.
- A GlobalCCU Chapter is not an association: it is a club.
The meetings are held with the following modalities:
- Preparation of meetings: Chapter Members will have an active voice in defining the annual programme, charting the course for all meetings, presentations, and workshops. A Task Force composed of several Members prepares each meeting in advance with the Chapter Leader.
- Each company member hosts in turn, presents its educational structure, hosts a luncheon and refreshment breaks, etc.
- Administrative tasks are managed by the host company (this includes the provision of badges, name places, laptop, video projector, flip charts, production and distribution of documents, etc.).
- The Chapter is financed by the membership fees and by Company Sponsorships.
Where does the meetings take place?
Because of the close and collaborative nature of a Chapter, meetings are always held at a member's facility. This allows the host to showcase their facility while affording other members the opportunity to experience a different perspective and benchmark. It also allows others in your office the unique opportunity to attend and broaden their view on Learning issues with no need for travel.
Who
are the Chapters for?
Membership is open to people in charge of a corporate university, corporate academy, institute or similar educational structure. Each company may assign two individual members as representatives of their GlobalCCU Chapter.
Only senior professionals are invited to join a GlobalCCU Chapter Note: Members may not be substituted or replaced by new or returning Members.
We specifically exclude consultants and other learning providers for avoiding pressures of the market on chapter members. However, the meeting task force and the chapter leader may, at their discretion, invite outside experts to participate in meetings, in order to provide both knowledge and inspiration.
Who runs a GlobalCCU Chapter?
Chapter leaders are recruited by GlobalCCU based on achievement, reputation and personality. All chapter leaders must have significant experience as a senior leader in Corporate Education. The Chapter can be led by a Company Member.
How are GlobalCCU Chapters linked with the GlobalCCU Community?

Creating GlobalCCU Chapters in different parts of the world permit the GlobalCCU network to enrich its activities, enlarge and improve the scale of exchanges for its members, and become an influential corporate university network. Our strengths come from:
