CREATION OF GLOBALCCU IN 2005

Based on the vision and strong convictions of Annick Renaud-Coulon, GlobalCCU is born during a kick-off meeting held near Paris with a handful of Corporate University Directors coming from Brazil, USA, Spain and France.

One of my convictions is that knowledge is wealth and wealth must be shared. Indeed knowledge exchange is at the heart of our philosophy. Another conviction I have is that one must respect and make the most of diversity, whether it be social, environmental or cultural. It means, as far as multinational companies are concerned, that executives have to accept the idea that they have now a social role to play, and that it is vital for them to promote sustainable development and corporate citizenship. So what I want to do with GlobalCCU is to give CU executives the opportunity to compare their approaches and working methods, to share information, but furthermore to build up knowledge and to create new tools together. At the close of this first meeting the vision, ambitions, missions and main activities of GlobalCCU were determined.

THE FIRST GLOBAL EVENT, THE GLOBALCCU FORUM, IS HELD IN 2008

To begin to realise its vision and build its network worldwide, GlobalCCU organized its first GlobalCCU Forum at the Veolia Environment Campus and at the Sorbonne University in and around Paris, France.  

I like challenges and the success of the European Club of Corporate Universities has naturally driven me to imagine a larger scale network in response to the needs of Corporate University professionals with whom I have been working with for many years.  As companies become more and more global, Corporate Education professionals are faced with redesigning their learning policies and learning organisation in order to fit with the different cultures in which they now find themselves in.  In response to this, I have been working on a project since 2004. It is a long story which is accomplished in the creation of GlobalCCU (Global Council of Corporate Universities). What an outcome! The 2008 GlobalCCU Forum is the launch pad of this global network idea”. Annick Renaud-Coulon.

As a result, GlobalCCU brings together companies and speakers from five continents over two days. Participants shared their high level experience, their questions, their doubts and worked together on around a cutting-edge theme, in a seminar approach instead of a congress as you may normally encounter at other events. The GlobalCCU Forum received the support of the Global Compact of United Nations. In an invaluable exchange of ideas and expertise, members from 24 countries from five continents gathered in Paris to debate how to make their Corporate Universities a lever of Corporate Responsibility.

2010
In response to the request of attendees to set up a second GlobalCCU Forum in 2009, and in addition to the events of the global economic crisis, GlobalCCU launched the Corporate University Community Platform in 2010. The launch of GlobalCCU’s on-line social network was held at Groupama headquarters, in France.

Launch of the GlobalCCU e-Campus
The GlobalCCU e-Campus launched in 2014 is a unique Knowledge Centre entirely dedicated to Corporate University professionals, giving our Premium Members a wealth of rich content from experts and professionals of Corporate Universities, and a few selected partners, worldwide.  Useful tools and methods inspire and challenge the impact of their Corporate Universities and benchmarking opportunities offer practical help through best practice comparisons.

The second GlobalCCU Forum, held in Paris, again welcomed companies from across the world to gather together to explore, discuss and share around a pertinent theme, ‘The Impact of Digital on Corporate Universities’.  With speakers, facilitators and partners from around the world, benchmarking on a global scale helps delegates to maximise performance and shape the future of Corporate Universities. 

GlobalCCU Forum 2017
The third Forum in Paris once more fulfilled its mission of gathering together many peers from around the globe to share and learn from each other. Prominent leaders exchanged on the hot topic of ‘The future of Corporate Universities in the Digital Disruption Age’. Award winners, that were announced the night before, presented their best practices to the delegates the next day to support the development of individuals and the profession.

Launch of the GlobalCCU Awards project.
American awards already existed for the Corporate University sector such as the Corporate University Exchange Awards for Excellence and Innovation and the CUBIC Awards, Corporate University Best in Class. However, they are very ‘American’ in their spirit. The GlobalCCU Awards are unique/different. They operate at the global scale, involving companies from around the world and with judges selected from all continents, deliberating together on the outcomes. The Award Ceremony is followed by a benchmarking sessions presenting the best practices of the winners. 
Their goals of the Awards are defined as follows:

  • Uni Brad (Brazil), Best overall Corporate University 2017 celebrated their outstanding achievement with the CEO of Banco Bradesco.





  • UniBB who won the GlobalCCU Best Overall award gold winner 2015 had a stand at Conarh (Human Resources National Congress), the largest human resources event in Latin America and second in the world. Visitors learnt about the success of UniBB in the stand here in photo.
