The 2025 GlobalCCU Forum will be held at the Hôtel de l’Industrie in the heart of Paris, France

The Hôtel de l’Industrie, Place Saint-Germain des Prés is an historic place built in 1801 by the Consul Napoléon Bonaparte to create The Société d’Encouragement pour l’Industrie Nationale to revive and promote the French economy after the French revolution.

Eminent members, including Louis Pasteur, Gustave Eiffel, Léon Gaumont and Marie Curie were accommodated there, played a key role in economic development in the 19th century. The birthplace of cinema, it hosted the first historical demonstration of sound with a phonautograph in 1860 by Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinvill. Then, a few years later in 1895, the Lumière brothers organized their very first screening there in the presence of Léon Gaumont – a founding act of the cinema industry – within the Salon Lumière which today bears their name.

Today, the Société d’Encouragement pour l’Industrie Nationale maintains its active role in sharing industrial initiatives in favor of the economic, social and environmental development of the territories. It perpetuates its founding missions: the encouragement and support of innovation and businesses, the transmission of know-how, technological exhibitions and the highlighting of solutions for a sustainable transition of industry, promoting technological innovation and entrepreneurship.

We will celebrate the 20 year anniversary of GlobalCCU in Paris, the place where the story of our organisation began!

It was in 2005 at Veolia Campus near Paris with representatives of Veolia Environment (France), Petrobras (Brazil), Johnson & Johnson (USA), NACCO Materials Handling Group (USA) and Gas Natural Fenosa (Spain) who supported Annick Renaud-Coulon’s vision and project with enthusiasm.

We will be delighted to celebrate this anniversary with our attendees, winners, speakers, experts and VIPs during the Awards Celebration Dinner on 12 May.
