2024 GlobalCCU year in review

At the end of this year, we take a moment to reminisce and take stock of was significant to GlobalCCU in 2024.

2025 GlobalCCU Awards

After the tremendous celebration of the ten-year anniversary of the GlobalCCU Awards in Bangalore in May 2023, this year, we launched the 2025 GlobalCCU Awards, our flagship service alongside the GlobalCCU CU Certification.

It is always an exciting moment, as well as a challenging one, and even more so in today’s world that is constantly fracturing and spreading sad passions on social networks. The GlobalCCU Awards must be protected and developed more than ever because they connect corporate education professionals from one continent to another and allow them to exchange their practices and ideals.

This year, we have set up a network of Award Ambassador Partners who, thanks to their proximity to the field, are committed to making the GlobalCCU Awards known to potential candidates in their country or region. We thank them very warmly.

GlobalCCU Membership Community programme

Our centrepiece of the year was the second GlobalCCU Membership Community programme from October 2023 to April 2024, led in a remarkable multicultural and international context, where three main activities were prepared in great depth:

  • Four Best Practice workshops on
    • People and culture,
    • Business,
    • Technologies and
    • Society and ecological environment
  • Two ‘I NEED / I CAN HELP’ working groups for solutions
  • A STUDY GROUP on the Impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence on Corporate Universities, which led to the writing of a White paper on the ‘Impact of AI on Corporate Universities’ by Annick Renaud-Coulon.

The objectives of this programme were ambitious and our principle of action, ‘Give to receive’, was essential to make this community successful.  Members said this forced them to step out of their comfort zone, to explore different ways of work, to dare to ask help to their peers and propose their help in return, stimulating their strategic thinking through the GlobalCCU framework of reference, conceptualising remarkable achievements to feed these three main activities.

It was a structured, in-depth and varied benchmarking programme that we set up between Corporate Universities located around the world. Members learned a lot from the experiences, discussions and analyses of their peers operating in different cultures. They also really appreciated the trustful atmosphere that existed between the members who lived very far from each other, sometimes with a ten-hour time difference. Participants are eager for us to launch the next programme in order to have annual continuity, a Community 3.0, as they consider this community to be a strong asset. It’s great news for us!

GlobalCCU Masterclasses

Online Masterclasses on three very relevant themes were organised and repeated several times during 2024, where classes were offered over two time zones (East and West).

Masterclass theme 1: Evolving your Corporate University Strategic Positioning

The purpose was to give the attendees the insight to:

  • help them better explore and challenge the strategic positioning of their Corporate University / Academy / Centre for Excellence thanks to essential strategic thinking and the GlobalCCU basis of reference 
  • identify what is at stake for the efficiency, marketing, communication and durability of their Corporate University when explicitly defining its strategic positioning
  • discover the core components and key success factors of the strategic positioning of a Corporate University
  • Better anticipate the impact of the ongoing AI revolution on the Corporate University Strategic positioning

Masterclass theme 2: Mastering AI’s impact on your Corporate University

The purpose was to:

  • Better explore the ongoing AI disruption with its main features and huge promise
    • Identify the GAI game-changer with its advantages, fears and risks 
    • Gather powerful ideas and tips to help the attendees better explore and implement GAI as a great support for achieving their goals, without losing sight of their essential mission to make the company ever more human
    • Forecasting the role of Generative AI on the future of Corporate University and the influential role to be played in the cognitive war, at the heart of the sociological transformations underway

Very insightful, would love to be shared with executives so they understand to some extent the direction various industries are learning towards. This awesome. You may want to consider turning this content into a recorder video similar to a TED talk. The use of numbers to convey the different date on GAI and its impact on the world. The role of Corporate University as a guardian for protecting the balance between Humanity and Technology, AI is inevitable – We need to optimize the use of AI in organizations- AI will improve productivity. Fantastic perspective from history to opportunities. GAI already become game changer in current industries including Corporate universities – GAI needs big data and information – Preparing our Corporate University to more adapt and implement GAI right away. It’s high time to embed AI in our strategy. Important to create opportunities for our CU’s team to increase their agility in using AI. Create an acculturation development path for parent organisation. Tons of potential. Careful and awareness with the limit. Main role from Corporate universities to acknowledge and also by keeping humans link.

Masterclass theme 3: Branding your Corporate University like a business

The purpose was to

  • Identify what a Corporate University brand is and its visible and invisible components
  • Identify why it is essential for a Corporate University to have a strong brand, very well managed and assessed
  • Provide a basis reference to help the attendees to manage their Corporate University branding journey.

We have supported general managers in the construction of their Corporate University, and thanks to shared spaces on the web, we have simplified our process, which has gained a lot in agility, empowerment and efficiency.

Conferences

We were asked to give conferences for sharing knowledge and best practices on different aspects of the Corporate University phenomenon in France and Indonesia.

Articles published in the media worldwide

Disseminating the reference resource of GlobalCCU is a crucial goal for us, as Corporate Universities must be better understood in our world, because where they benefit from a solid strategic positioning, they play essential roles in both their company and their country. They are a valuable defense against the worrying rise of individualism and uncontrolled use of GAI. We need these structures to continue and develop more and more even!
